"The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer.”  Mahatma Gandhi

“No one has ever become poor by giving.”
Anne Frank

It is in giving that we receive. I live my life by this credo, and I volunteer my time, and also donate part of my earnings to some causes that I would like to share with you.

A portion of what I earn from my consultations are donated to a cause that I believe in and have been supporting since I started earning, and even earlier with volunteering.

Light without Borders is an NGO in Lesvos, Greece.  It provides free optometry and ophthalmic services and prescription glasses to refugees, as well as emotional support in (post trauma) for refugees, rescue teams and volunteers, with flower essences. Most of the people we serve in the refugee camp have lost their glasses on the dangerous journey to escape war and violence. We are the only project that offers this service, serving hundreds of people a week.

If their work strikes a chord in you, please do consider supporting them.

I also volunteer my services, and flower therapies at dog shelters in Barcelona, Spain.

I started this work when I was living in the United States of America, at a doggie daycare called K9 in St. Louis, Missouri, and continued it when I moved back to Spain. At the moment, I actively support Fundacion Altarriba, a foundation that runs a dog shelter in Gerona and provides subsidized services to those who cannot afford pet care.

Bombay to Barcelona Library Café is a project founded by Amin Sheikh, a former street kid, where its members come from the same orphanage he grew up. He does not want them to go back on the street once they leave the orphanage, so in the café they receive employment, education, guidance and accommodation. It is also a place where around 80 street kids get food for free every day. The team is growing, help them to get a bigger place and accommodate more boys and girls like them.

If you would like to purchase Amin Sheikh's book, or buy his delicious recipes you can do so on his website.

This animal shelter has always watched over the animals they nurture, and they fight a daily battle to ensure that their animals receive the attention and care that they deserve. They have launched a collective appeal, as together, we can make a difference. Just a small amount of Euro 1 of each of us means being able to hire a veterinarian to ensure the health of our animals. You add up?

And if their work strikes a chord in you, please do consider supporting them independently as well.
